School Reconstruction Floods 2010

This intervention is designed to re-establish a regular school operation and it will provide a good paradigm for early recovery of damaged schools from disasters. The vulnerable communities are facilitated with access to education in safe, risk resilient and gender equality educational infrastructures that are conducive to a "Child Friendly Inclusive School" setting as per "Islamabad Commitment, 3 by GoP. This intervention will directly result into: (a) Reconstruction of 4 schools for boys and girls in Badalai and Shinko villages in Swat. Total 21 classrooms, according to GoP standards and disaster resilient norms will be constructed. Staff offices and toilet blocks will also be added. (b) Rehabilitation of 10 Primary schools that are partially damaged, in Charsadda and Nowshera districts will be undertaken.
