Visions du Réel

The international film festival Visions du Réel in Nyon is an important gathering for professionals in the documentary film industry. The SDC supports the festival, which also presents documentaries from countries of the South and East.

Visions du Réel is the only documentary film festival in Switzerland, enjoys an international reputation and is an important gathering for professionals in the documentary film industry. The SDC supports the festival which not only gives film-makers and producers from the South and East access to a Swiss audience, but also to an international film market.  Film projects are supported and promoted in their different stages of progress from their inception right up to the actual screening.

The Focus section presents each year the documentary films of a country in Asia, Latin America, Africa or Eastern Europe.  This year, Serbia is in the spotlight.  The audience can expect to see a diverse and fascinating programme of 18 documentary films, which will be presented by the Serbian directors and producers invited to the festival.  In addition, the Focus Talk on 16 April 2018 will deal with the film industry today in Serbia.  On 17 April five film projects still in progress will then be presented by the Serbian film teams invited to the festival. The best project will be awarded the Visions Sud Est prize, which includes the sum of CHF 10,000.
