International Career Day 2014

In 2015 the FDFA will once again be holding the popular International Career Day. Various international organisations will be presenting their activities and the career opportunities they provide on 25 March at the Palais de Beaulieu in Lausanne. The day is aimed at new graduates and young academics with work experience who are considering a career in an intergovernmental organisation.

International Career Day was initiated to promote the Swiss presence in international organisations, and this will be the 12th edition. Despite considerable involvement in international cooperation, Switzerland is still under-represented in the UN system and in other international organisations. International Career Day is part of the Federal Council's strategy to increase Swiss participation in international organisations.

The occasion provides young Swiss men and women with an opportunity to approach international organisations and encourages them to consider pursuing such a career. International Career Day is the only event of this kind in Switzerland exclusively devoted to international organisations, thus providing a unique forum for motivated young graduates to exchange with the recruitment specialists from the organisations. The international organisations represented each have a stand and most of them also make a presentation. The target group of the event is mainly new graduates and young academics with work experience.

The FDFA is organising the event in conjunction with its long-standing partner Etucom. Participation is free of charge. Further information will soon be published here. If you have any questions regarding International Career Day, please contact the United Nations and International Organisations Division (details in the right-hand column).
