UN Youth Volunteers

The SDC and the FDFA's Human Security Division (HSD) finance around 15 placements within the UN Youth Volunteers programme every year. This gives Swiss university graduates the chance to gather initial professional experience working for the UN.

Minimum requirements are a master's degree (completed by the time of application) and from two to three years professional experience including up to one year spent abroad. Candidates must have Swiss citizenship and be under 29 years of age.

If you are selected for the UN Youth Volunteers programme you will spend one year in one of the SDC's or HSD's priority countries working in a UN organisation. The placements are advertised in August/September and assigned to candidates the following February.
