The Institute of Development Studies (IDS), with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation’s network for Democratisation, Decentralisation and Local Governance, conducted a political economy analysis of local economic development in Serbia in early 2019. The aim of the analysis is to examine the contextual factors that condition the role of local self-governments in implementing successful local economic development and to identify potential entry-points for the promotion of local economic development in Serbia.
