Strengthening Resilience to Forest Fire Risk (FiRe)

Direct:

- Technicians, officials and decision-makers from relevant government institutions for disaster risk management, early warning and Integrated Fire Management in the 4 target countries;

- Staff of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organisation (ACTO);

- Selected local and subnational governments in the 4 target countries;

- Grassroots community organizations, producer organizations and civil society, non-governmental organizations;

- Regional level organisms (e.g. Andean Community).

Indirect:

- Small-scale agricultural and livestock producers (male and female) located around protected areas and indigenous territories/high risk zones for forest fires.

Principaux résultats attendus:  

Output 1: Instruments to promote the incorporation of the IFM approach in the institutional framework, regulations and policies for fire risk management are developed.

Output 2: Individual and institutional competences and capacities of key actors in the implementation of IFM at regional, national and local levels are strengthened.

Output 3: Innovative approaches for the broad application of IFM are disseminated at local, national and regional levels.

Output 4: Monitoring, information management and warning systems for IFM are strengthened.
