Hintergrund | As a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the intensifying military clashes throughout Ukrainian territory, hundreds of thousands of people no longer have access to electricity, water, food and other basic supplies. The United Nations estimates that 300’000 people have been displaced by the war. According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), more than 160’000 people have fled within the country and over 116’000 additional people have fled to neighbouring countries. The number of refugees is expected to rise sharply in the coming days. |
