OCHA, Contribution activities OPT

Contribution to OCHA Program in the oPt. OCHA plays an important role in ensuring effective coordination among humanitarian organisations working in the oPt, between donors and the Palestinian authorities, and with the Palestinian authorities at all levels to improve conditions for vulnerable populations and to ensure that the response is more predictable and delivered as efficiently and effectively as possible. Overall goal: The humanitarian situation in the oPt is improved and the civilian population enjoys the protection and assistance that it requires and is entitled to according to international law. Support to OCHA's leading role within the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT) as well as to its core function of humanitarian coordination, advocacy and information management will contribute to the achievement of the overall goal. Outcomes: (1) A more enabling environment for humanitarian action is in place. (2) The effectiveness of the humanitarian coordination system is improved. (3) OCHA management and administration is strengthened.
