Youth Employment Generation-Gaza
The project will support the Palestinian national and local authorities in responding to the needs of the vulnerable and war-affected youth and disabled in the Gaza Strip through the provision of temporary employment within the framework of emergency job creation. Hintergrund |
The Gaza Strip has been under siege since 2007. In July 2014, 51 days of armed conflict resulted in huge human losses (over 2’200 casualties in Gaza), devastation of infrastructure, productive assets and resources. The population is facing a severe humanitarian crisis, high unemployment rates particularly affecting youth and women, generalized de-development and unsustainable food insecurity levels. 80% of the population are estimated to be dependent on humanitarian aid for survival |
Ziele |
Early recovery and rapid return to sustainable development pathways are achieved in post-conflict and post-disaster settings |
