Improving effectiveness of police cooperation in the field of countering Trafficking of Human Beings (THB) between Switzerland and Romania

The project seeks to strengthen the effectiveness of the police cooperation between Romania and Switzerland to improve identification and investigation of trafficking of human beings. Further, the equipment of the Romanian Police will be enhanced to improve investigations of cases in trafficking of human beings.

Attività	As to outcome 1, 6 study visits of THB experts from both countries will be organized during the two-year project to constitute a bilateral expert community. Further, two one-week courses with dedicated training programs for two groups of THB and police experts from the Federal Office of Police and Swiss cantonal police forces will be held. Outcome 2 shall be achieved by organizing 4 one-week so-called Action Weeks in Switzerland, in which Swiss cantonal police and Romanian THB Experts will cooperate in the identification of victims. A detached Romanian police officer will participate in local investigations in Geneva. Activities under outcome 3 will focus on the tendering of equipment of THB investigations and equipment for infor-mation exchange for the Romanian Police.
